Tottenham will sign Dejan Kulusevski despite Conte exit
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Tottenham Hotspur will sign Dejan Kulusevski permanently from Juventus despite the exit of Antonio Conte, the manager who brought him in.
The Swedish international joined Tottenham on loan from Juventus in January 2022, with an obligation to buy the 22-year-old attacking midfielder permanently based on specific conditions, including Champions League qualification.
The departure of Antonio Conte raised doubts about the player’s future at the club, with many wondering if he was a ‘Conte signing’ and if the Italian’s exit would change Tottenham’s plans with the player.
Tottenham is currently in the race for a top-four finish, and if they fail to make it, there could be doubts over Kulusevski’s future at the club. The Swedish international has not had the best of seasons, struggling to replicate his form from last year.
Juventus has already received €10 million as a loan fee for Kulusevski and will receive an additional €35 million when the deal becomes permanent. The Turin giants will be hoping that the deal goes through, given their current financial situation.
The player’s versatility, technical ability, and eye for a goal make him an attractive proposition for Tottenham. The 22-year-old can play as a central attacking midfielder, a winger, or a forward.
Kulusevski is an excellent dribbler and possesses good pace, which makes him a handful for defenders. He also has a good eye for a pass and can create chances for his teammates. He is surely a great talent to have.
While there were doubts about Kulusevski’s future at the club, Tottenham’s plans with the player seem to have remained unchanged. The club will begin discussions with the player and Juventus when the season ends, and the deal will likely be completed in the summer.
