Tottenham star Lucas Moura apologizes for Everton mistake
Taking to his Instagram as quoted by Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur star Lucas Moura has apologized for his mistake against Everton which resulted in him being sent off.
The Brazilian winger was sent off just six minutes after coming on as a substitute for a rash challenge on Michael Keane. It resulted in Tottenham dropping points in what was a very important game.
Moura took to social media to apologize for his actions, admitting that he made a mistake and insisting that there was no malicious intent behind his tackle. He felt bad for letting his team down.
Here is what the injury-ridden Brazilian had to say about his actions after getting a rare appearance against the Toffees.
“There are good days and bad days, today is a bad day for me. No one is more frustrated than me. I made a mistake and I accept that. I am not this kind of player and I didn’t mean to do that”
Moura’s apology shows his humility and respect for his teammates, the staff, the fans, and the club. It is clear that he understands the gravity of his mistake and is willing to work hard to make amends.
The incident came in the first game under new interim manager Cristian Stellini, who took over after the departure of Antonio Conte. It was a disappointing start to his tenure, but there were some positives to take from the game.
Tottenham’s chances of finishing in the top four have taken a hit in recent weeks, with a string of poor results meaning that they are making life difficult for themselves to get Champions League football for next season.
Moura does not have long left in his Tottenham career. Injuries have really crippled him in recent times. However, we must not forget the memorable moments that he has given us in the past.
