PSG make ‘first contact’ with Tottenham Hotspur-linked Julian Nagelsmann
Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have made ‘first contact’ with Julian Nagelsmann, who Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with, according to Football.FR reporter Abdellah Boulma on Twitter (h/t The Sun).
Christophe Galtier, who the French outfit hired in the summer of 2022, will not continue in the Parc des Princes’ side’s dugout next season. To that end, the Parisians are eyeing the former Bayern Munich head coach.
The German was sacked by the Bavarians recently. Subsequently, the Bundesliga giants replaced him with former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.
Galtier has not enjoyed a fruitful stint at PSG so far. The Ligue 1 giants were knocked out of the French Cup and lost to Bayern in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
Apart from Tottenham, Premier League rivals Chelsea have also been associated with Nagelsmann. The Blues also sacked Graham Potter after their 2-0 loss to Aston Villa.
As for Spurs, Cristian Stellini is currently in charge of the team. The Italian was formerly the assistant manager when Antonio Conte was around. However, the former Inter Milan head coach parted ways with the Lilywhites, having seemingly grown frustrated at the club.
Unfortunately, Tottenham have still looked like their same fragile self with Conte’s departure. Against Everton in our previous English top-flight fixture, we failed to hold onto our lead and dropped two points in a tight top-four race.
Nagelsmann is still a young coach. However, the German has the experience of managing a top side like Bayern. Even though he was sacked, the 35-year-old’s record with the Bavarians was decent.

However, with other top teams in the running to acquire the former Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig manager’s services, it will seemingly be challenging for Tottenham to hire him. It remains to be seen who will replace Conte in Spurs’ dugout on a permanent basis in the coming months.
