Chelsea loanee Levi Colwill being ‘monitored’ by Tottenham Hotspur
Levi Colwill, who is on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion from Chelsea, is being ‘monitored’ by Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Sun.
Spurs are one of the several teams in the Premier League who have the 20-year-old on their radar. The North London side are among the number of admirers of the centre-back in the English top flight.
The England U21 international will return to the Blues at the end of the season. However, the Stamford Bridge side may be forced to sell some of their stars in the upcoming transfer window due to no European football.
But Chelsea have no intention of parting ways with Colwill. The defender has thrived on his temporary move with the Seagulls. Roberto De Zerbi’s team are flying high in the league at the moment.
The 20-year-old made his way through the youth ranks at the Blues. In the previous campaign, the centre-back spent time on loan at Huddersfield Town in the Championship and caught a lot of people’s attention.
This season, the youngster has found it hard to break into Brighton’s first team. However, the English national has still managed to make 15 appearances in all competitions for the East Sussex-based club.
Tottenham’s backline has struggled over the last two campaigns. Under Nuno Espirito Santo, we were not cohesive. Antonio Conte managed to steady the ship to a certain extent last season.
Unfortunately, this term, the Italian was unable to get the best out of the likes of Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Clement Lenglet. Cristian Romero has been our only consistent defender for some time now.
