Tottenham Hotspur are ‘keeping tabs’ on centre-back Fikayo Tomori, who currently plays for Serie A giants AC Milan, according to the Daily Mail (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The defender’s existing contract with the Italian outfit runs until the summer of 2027. As a result, the Rosoneri are expected to demand a ‘huge offer’ to part ways with the England international.

Tomori has caught a lot of people’s attention since his move to the San Siro side. Therefore, Spurs will have to compete with Premier League rivals Manchester United for the 25-year-old’s signature. The Red Devils are also monitoring the centre-back.

The England international made his way through the youth ranks at Chelsea. Subsequently, the centre-back spent a fruitful loan spell at Derby County before being handed the opportunity at Chelsea under Frank Lampard.

However, after finding game time hard to come by at the Stamford Bridge side, the defender joined Milan on loan in January 2021. Immediately, he became a key player for the Rosoneri.

Last season, Tomori won the Serie A title under Stefano Pioli. In the current campaign, the defender has once again been pivotal for the Italian outfit as they reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Tottenham’s defence has looked shaky this season. The North London side have been unable to keep clean sheets or hold onto leads recently. Antonio Conte also parted ways with the club after the Southampton game.

Cristian Romero has been the only consistent defender at Spurs since his arrival from Atalanta. The likes of Eric Dier, Ben Davis, and Clement Lenglet have all left a lot to be desired this term.

Therefore, Tottenham could do with reinforcing their backline next summer. However, it remains to be seen whether the Liliwhites will be able to acquire Tomori’s services in the coming months.
