Tottenham Hotspur Sporting Director Fabio Paratici resigns
Daniel Levy has wished Fabio Paratici the best for his future endeavors after the Italian resigned from his role as Tottenham Hotspur sporting director.
The 50-year-old was handed a 30-month ban by the Italian FA, which was made worldwide, after the false accounting scandal at Juventus. At the Old Lady, he worked in several roles between 2010 and 2021.
Subsequently, Paratici had stepped down temporarily from his role at Spurs. However, after losing an appeal against the ban, the sporting director has permanently parted ways with the North London side.
Speaking to the media via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Levy expressed grief and extended support to the Italian after his departure. It remains to be seen what the Tottenham chief does next.
“This has been a stressful time for Fabio and his family. We wanted to ensure that we allowed for due process to be followed. We wish him the best for his future.”
Paratici was handed the reins at Spurs in the summer of 2021. Nuno Espirito Santo was appointed the North London side’s head coach after his fruitful spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Unfortunately, the Portuguese was unable to do much at Tottenham. Subsequently, it felt like Spurs had pulled off a coup with the arrival of Antonio Conte in our dugout.
The former Inter Milan and Chelsea manager ended his first season in charge on a high note. January 2022 signings like Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur were astute and inspiring buys.
Last summer, the North London side once again made several additions to the team. The likes of Ivan Perisisc, Richarlison, and Yves Bissouma seemed good buys at the time.
Unfortunately, they have failed to get going at Tottenham up until now. Spurs’ season has also been a mixed bag. Then, last month, Conte parted ways with the North London side, with Cristian Stellinin taking charge of the team.
