Julian Nagelsmann ‘very interested’ in Tottenham Hotspur job after rejecting Chelsea
Julian Nagelsmann, as per German outlet Sport BILD, is ‘very interested’ in becoming Tottenham Hotspur’s new head coach after he ‘forestalled Chelsea with his rejection’.
It seems that the Blues and the German coach couldn’t come to an agreement and Nagelsmann is now close to joining Spurs as Antonio Conte’s permanent successor. The Italian coach left N17 by mutual consent last month.
Since then, Cristian Stellini has been our temporary manager with Ryan Mason as his assistant. Nagelsmann, 35, was shockingly sacked by Bayern Munich last month.
The 35-year-old was having a decent season with Bundesliga while he masterminded a dominant quarterfinal win in the UEFA Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). But that wasn’t enough for Bayern’s board.
The right call by Spurs?
Nagelsmann is young and very, very smart. He is learning every game, every season and with time, is only becoming the best version of himself as a coach.
Those who watched his RB Leipzig and TSG Hoffenheim teams would have appreciated how good they played when in possession and when attacking. He overachieved with both teams to an extent.
There was a reason Bayern came in for him in the first place – and he won three domestic titles, including a league title, with them after joining the Allianz Arena outfit in July 2021. Spurs would do very well to get in a manager like him in the managerial hotseat.

We have seen enough of Nagelsmann to know that he isn’t a flash in the plan. With time, he can build something special here at Tottenham. Let’s be quick, though. There could be other teams needing a new manager alongside Spurs and there won’t be many better than Nagelsmann on the free agent market.
