The exit of Lucas Moura from Tottenham Hotspur close to being finalized
According to a report from Turkish outlet Fanatik, Lucas Moura is closing in on an exit from Tottenham Hotspur with the Brazilian closing in on a move to Fenerbahce.
The Brazilian attacking midfielder has been an integral part of Spurs’ squad since he arrived in January 2018. However, with his contract set to expire this summer, it seems that his time at the club is coming to an end.
Moura has had a mixed season with Tottenham this year, failing to start a single league game so far. This lack of playing time may have contributed to the club’s decision not to renew his contract
Injuries have been the main reason the talented Brazilian has seen his game time so diminished and the decision has been taken to let him leave on a free transfer. After all, we do have enough attacking talent.
It’s clear that the Brazilian needs to be playing regularly at this stage of his career, and if he can’t get that at Tottenham, it may be time to move on. A move to a new club could just be what he needs.
Turkish outfit Fenerbahce are said to be keen on securing Moura’s services for next season. The club has reportedly offered him a contract worth around €3 million per season for two years, with the option of a third year.
It’s always sad to see a player leave a club, especially one who has been as influential as Moura has been for Tottenham. His stunning hat trick against Ajax in the Champions League semi-final in 2019 will live long in the memory of Spurs fans.
However, all good things come to an end. Moura’s exit from Tottenham would free up space in the squad and potentially provide the club with funds to invest in new players. It’s no secret that Spurs have struggled this season.
