Julian Nagelsmann wants a decisive say in transfer dealings to move to Tottenham
According to the Independent, out-of-work German manager Julian Nagelsmann wants a decisive say in transfer dealings to agree a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur are in need of a fresh start after yet another managerial sacking. The club’s chairman, Daniel Levy, is looking for the right candidate to bring the club back up from the shambles they find themselves in and Julian Nagelsmann is on top of his list.
Nagelsmann, who recently withdrew from the Chelsea appointment process, is a highly sought-after manager known for his tactical prowess and ability to develop young players. He finds himself out of work after being unceremoniously removed from Bayern Munich.
However, Nagelsmann is in no rush to hurry his way back to management. He would only consider a move to Tottenham if he has a decisive say in transfer dealings. This is understandable as the German will want to implement his philosophy.
This is not an unusual request as many managers today prefer to have a say in the club’s transfer business. After all, they are the ones who know the team’s needs and the players who would fit in well.
This could be a challenge for Tottenham, as Levy is known for his tight control over the club’s finances and transfer dealings. It remains to be seen if he is willing to relinquish some of that control to bring in a manager of Nagelsmann’s calibre.
Tottenham are in the midst of a crisis after a series of disappointing results, including a humiliating 6-1 defeat to Newcastle United. The club’s fortunes have been on a downward spiral for some time now.
The club’s latest caretaker manager, Ryan Mason, has been given the reins for the rest of the season. Still, it is clear that the club needs a long-term solution, and Nagelsmann could be the answer to their prayers.
