Tottenham lead AC Milan in race for Allan-Saint Maximin
According to the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are leading AC Milan in the race for talented Newcastle United sensation Allan-Saint Maximin.
Rossoneri are also interested in Saint-Maximin, but their pursuit may be hindered by the hefty transfer fee Newcastle is demanding. The Magpies are said to be seeking around £50 million for the 26-year-old.
Saint-Maximin joined Newcastle in the summer of 2019 and he still has three years left on his contract. This puts Newcastle in a strong negotiating position, as they can hold out for a high price for their star player.
The signing of Saint-Maximin would undoubtedly add a new dimension to the team’s attacking options. He is a talented player who has caught the eye with his flair. He will be a great option for Tottenham.
While Saint-Maximin’s potential move to Tottenham may come as a disappointment to AC Milan, the Italian giants have several other targets on their radar. With the transfer window set to open soon, it will be interesting to see how the race for Saint-Maximin pans out.
One thing is for sure: if Tottenham do manage to land Saint-Maximin, it would be a major statement of intent from the club. The winger has proven himself to be one of the most exciting players in the Premier League in recent seasons.
Newcastle United are high flying and only seem to be going from strength to strength. For the right offer, they might not mind letting the Frenchman go considering they are no longer as dependent on the winger.
