Tottenham Hotspur eyeing summer deal for 22-year-old Mallorca star with €30m release clause

Tottenham Hotspur want RCD Mallorca star Lee Kang-in

According to Mundo Deportivo, Tottenham Hotspur want to sign talented La Liga star Lee Kang-in from RCD Mallorca in the summer.

The 22-year-old has had an impressive season in La Liga, scoring five goals and providing five assists in all competitions. Although Atletico Madrid are also thought to be interested in the South Korean international, Tottenham appear to be leading the race to secure his services.

The North London club is reportedly “very interested” in signing the versatile forward, who can play anywhere across the front three. The addition of Kang-in to Tottenham’s squad could provide much-needed depth in the attack, as Harry Kane has been carrying the team for a while now.

While the Englishman is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world, he needs more support from his teammates. With his flair and goalscoring abilities, Kang-in could be a valuable asset to the Spurs attack.

Moreover, the opportunity to play alongside his compatriot Son Heung-Min could be a tempting prospect for the young attacker. The South Korean duo could form a lethal partnership up front, with their pace and skill causing problems for any opposition defence.

The fact that Kang-in is still quite young means that he has room for improvement and could become even better with time. Playing against some of the best defenders in the Premier League would only help him develop further and fulfil his potential.

Although Kang-in has a €30 million release clause in his contract, Tottenham certainly has the financial muscle to pay up for him. They will look to pip the competitors to the signing of the South Korean.

However, it remains to be seen whether Kang-in is willing to turn down the opportunity to play for a club like Atletico Madrid. The pull of the Premier League could just be too hard to resist.
