Tottenham send scouts to Roma vs Milan with possible interest in Tammy Abraham
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Tottenham Hotspur have sent scouts to watch the game between Roma and AC Milan with possible interest in talented striker Tammy Abraham.
The 25-year-old has been in fine form for the Serie A club this season, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists in all competitions. His performances have attracted interest from several Premier League clubs.
Tottenham could prove to be a tempting destination for the young forward, who could thrive alongside England captain Harry Kane. Spurs have been in the market for a reliable goalscorer for quite some time now, and Abraham could fit the bill perfectly.
The Lilywhites have struggled for consistency in front of goal this season, and their reliance on Kane to provide the majority of the goals has been a cause for concern. The English superstar’s future at the club is also in question.
Signing Abraham could provide Tottenham with the much-needed firepower upfront, and his partnership with Kane could prove to be a lethal combination if the senior striker stays. If not, the former Chelsea man could be the perfect candidate to replace Kane.
Abraham’s ability to hold up the ball, link-up play and make intelligent runs in behind the defence could add a new dimension to Tottenham’s attacking play. His aerial prowess could also prove to be a valuable asset for Spurs.
The striker’s return to the Premier League could also be a boost for his international aspirations. Abraham has been on the fringes of the England squad in recent times, but performing in the English league will help him become a more regular presence.
While the reported €80 million price tag for Abraham might seem steep, Tottenham could make a move for the striker if they are able to sell some of their fringe players in the summer. If Kane leaves, they should definitely go for him.
