Tottenham handed transfer blow as Ansu Fati is set to stay at Barcelona
Tottenham Hotspur has been dealt a huge transfer blow as Ansu Fati is set to remain at Barcelona for the upcoming season.
The announcement came from Fati’s father Bori [via @tjuanmarti ] (h/t Fabrizio Romano), who confirmed that his son will definitely stay at Barcelona, despite interest from other clubs. Tottenham, who were hoping to secure the young star’s signature, will now have to look elsewhere for a new addition to their squad.
Fati is a rising star in the world of football, having made his debut for Barcelona at just 16 years old. Since then, he has become an integral part of the team and has shown immense talent on the field.
It’s no wonder that many top clubs, including Tottenham, have been interested in signing him. This is despite some poor form from the talented attacker who has not managed to find his best levels after persistent injuries.
However, despite the interest from other clubs, Fati has decided to stay put at Barcelona. The Barcelona number 10 seems fixed on succeeding at the club and this would bode well for the Spanish club.
Speaking about the situation, Bori Fati put to bed the rumours about Ansu’s future and confirmed that he’ll stay at Barcelona
“Ansu will stay at Barcelona. That’s for sure. He stays, it’s guaranteed”
Tottenham fans may be disappointed with this news. They would have wanted to add the talented Spaniard to their ranks next season but it’s not the end of the world even if he doesn’t come here.
It’s also worth noting that Tottenham has a talented squad of players already, including the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. With the right tactics and strategies, the team can still achieve great things even without Fati on the roster.
