Tottenham honcho Daniel Levy plotting double raid of Leicester City

According to Daily Express, Daniel Levy is plotting a bumper double deal in an attempt to try and sign James Maddison and Harvey Barnes from Leicester City.

It is not a secret that Tottenham has been lacking creativity in the midfield for the past few seasons. The arrival of Maddison will be a significant boost in this regard, as he is known for his ability to score goals and create chances.

Maddison has been a long-term target for Spurs, and his impressive form in the Premier League has made him one of the most sought-after players in the league. Moreover, his contract with the Foxes ends next summer, making him a relatively cheap option compared to his market value.

On the other hand, Barnes has been one of the most consistent performers for Leicester City over the past few seasons. Despite the Foxes’ struggles this season, Barnes has scored 10 goals and provided 1 assist in the Premier League.

With a lengthy contract still in place, Barnes may cost a bit more than Maddison, but he would be a valuable addition to the Spurs squad. Daniel Levy seems to be fixed on trying to sign the duo in the summer.

Tottenham are currently on the hunt for a new manager, and the club is set to appoint a new sporting director The double raid on Leicester City will send a clear message to potential managerial candidates that the club is ready to financially back them.

However, it would be wise for Tottenham and Levy to wait until the next managerial appointment to make this decision. Whether Maddison or Barnes fits into the manager’s plans matters.

Any new manager would want to know how much control they have over the club’s transfer strategy and signings. Therefore, Levy must ensure that the new manager has a say in transfer dealings and that they have a good working relationship.
