Tottenham Hotspur, PSG and Manchester United could be in race to sign former Chelsea star Tammy Abraham
Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Manchester United are expected to pursue AS Roma star Tammy Abraham this summer, as per Italian outlet Calciomercato, via Football.London.
The 25-year-old moved to AS Roma in the summer of 2021 after he was deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea. The Blues did, however, include a £70million buyback clause in his contract.
I Giallorossi have apparently placed a £35-£40m price tag on the England international. Now, journalist Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport that there could be a ‘real’ chance of Abraham leaving the Stadio Olimpico. He said:
“… There is certainly quite a bit of speculation around him (Abraham) at the moment. I was speaking to a contact in Italy who seemed to think the possibility of him leaving is real
He hasn’t had a good time this season, scoring just nine times in 46 games for Jose Mourinho’s side. Those are certainly not impressive numbers but at 25, he still has a lot of time left to sharpen his tools. Moreover, he has ample experience playing in the Premier League.
What should Spurs do?
Abraham scored 30 times and provided 12 assists in 82 games across competitions for Chelsea. He was shifted to the fringes under Thomas Tuchel’s reign and there was confusion among Blues fans as to why Abraham was struggling for playing time.
That is because those who have seen him in action know he has what it takes to become a very, very good striker. He was impressive in his debut season in Italy and he can surely be a vital contributor for a Premier League side.
Harry Kane’s future at Spurs could have an impact on which strikers Spurs choose to pursue. The England international has been linked with a move to Manchester United with his contract expiring in June 2024.
PSG can also use some much-needed competition for Kylian Mbappe while Manchester United’s need for a centre-forward is there for all to see. Wout Weghorst’s loan deal expires this summer.

Beyond the Dutchman, they do not have a natural No. 9 to lead their line, although Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial can and have played in that position before.
