Ryan Mason confirms shoulder problem for Tottenham ace Clement Lenglet

Speaking in the post-match press conference as quoted by Football. London, Tottenham Hotspur interim boss Ryan Mason has confirmed that Clement Lenglet suffered a shoulder injury against Crystal Palace.

Tottenham are gearing up for a crucial match against Aston Villa, with both teams looking to secure a spot in European competitions next season. The game is going to be a must-win match for Spurs, who are currently three points ahead of Villa in the league table.

Mason confirmed that Clement Lenglet picked up a shoulder problem during their last game against Crystal Palace. However, the extent of his injury is not yet clear and will be assessed in the coming days.

Despite the injury setbacks, Tottenham will have to come out all guns blazing against Aston Villa. The opposition has been in scintillating form since the appointment of Unai Emery, who has transformed the side from relegation form to a team fighting for a place in Europe.

However, their loss to Wolves over the weekend has dented their chances of achieving that goal. This makes the upcoming match even more important for both sides. Villa will be even more motivated to put up a show against Spurs.

Here is what Mason had to say about Lenglet’s injury but he was optimistic that it may not be serious

“He had a shoulder problem, you could probably see. Hopefully nothing too serious, too bad”

Ryan Mason has had a visible impact on Tottenham since taking over as interim manager in April. The team has been more attacking under his leadership and was able to keep a clean sheet against Palace after switching to a back four.

The win against Roy Hodgson’s team was their first in five games, and the team will be looking to build on it with another positive result against Villa. Tottenham really need to step up now to secure European football.
