In-demand Tottenham Hotspur star Lucas Moura set for talks with his agents amid interest from many clubs
Lucas Moura is set to depart Tottenham Hotspur this summer as a free agent after five-and-a-half memorable years at the club.
He arrived in January 2018 from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with great hopes of making a name for himself in north London. Looking back at his career, perhaps he underachieved a bit due to his inconsistency.
He played under several managers and it is hard to win favour under all of them. Antonio Conte effectively started to marginalise the Brazilian from the first team, signing the likes of Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski up front.
The 30-year-old, for his part, hasn’t been at his best. Injuries have hampered the last months of his career. It is perhaps best if he leaves with good memories now rather than just being an unused player on the bench.
Lucas on his way out
According to French outlet Footmercato, the Brazil international has absolutely no shortage of suitors. Clubs from Premier League and Serie A are chasing him.
There is also interest from Saudi Arabia (who are a lot more attractive after Cristiano Ronaldo‘s addition to their league), Qatar, and Major League Soccer (MLS). Hence, there is no shortage of interest in him.
He may not be the fastest player around anymore but he still has brilliant close control and the ability to weave out of tight spaces. It helps that he can play anywhere across the frontline as well.
You’d think that Lucas would want to play at the highest level, which in this case would be in Europe for a club playing in European competitions, considering he is 30. But a strong financial offer from elsewhere can always sway a player’s head.

Wherever he goes, Spurs fans will only wish the best for him. He will go down as a cult hero even if it is just for that one moment (or three) against Ajax in the second leg of the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League semifinals.
