Bryan Gil says he will leave Tottenham in the summer only if the club asks him to
Speaking to Spanish outlet AS, Spanish winger Bryan Gil has declared his intention to return to Tottenham Hotspur and aim to secure a place in the squad for the upcoming season.
Gil’s arrival at Spurs from Sevilla in 2021 generated considerable excitement and anticipation regarding his potential. However, his initial stint at the club did not unfold as expected, as he struggled to establish himself under the management of Antonio Conte.
Despite his underwhelming spell at Tottenham thus far, Bryan Gil remains optimistic about his future with the club. In fact, the talented winger was loaned back to his former club, Sevilla, in January 2023.
During his loan spell, he showcased his abilities by contributing two goals and two assists in 15 league appearances. Just before he left on loan, Gil was slowly seeming to be coming back to his very best.
Gil made it clear that his intention is to stay at Tottenham, highlighting the fact that he has an existing contract with the club. However, he acknowledged that the final decision ultimately rests with the club’s management.
“It is too soon to know what will happen. What I do want is to have a quiet summer, because I’ve already had a couple of very busy years with whether I go out or not. If I have to leave or stay, let it be something clear. I will go with the mentality of staying because I have a contract and if I leave, it will be what they have decided.”
The 22-year-old winger’s return to Tottenham presents an opportunity for him to impress the new manager and secure a regular role within the squad. Gil’s potential and talent make him an exciting prospect for the future.
While the immediate future at Tottenham remains uncertain for Gil, his determination and willingness to fight for his place demonstrate a strong desire to succeed at the club. The upcoming season could prove to be a turning point in determining whether Gil can fulfill his potential and establish himself as a key player for Spurs.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Tottenham will need to carefully evaluate their options and determine the best path forward for both the club and the player. The decision to keep or let go of Gil will undoubtedly be guided by numerous factors.
