Matt Law says Tottenham could go back for Nagelsmann depending on their new sporting director
According to Telegraph, Matt Law has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could go back for Julian Nagelsmann depending on who they appoint as their new sporting director.
While Spurs are currently not actively pursuing Nagelsmann, this could change if the right candidate endorses him for the managerial position. Tottenham’s position on Nagelsmann took a surprising turn last week when it was revealed that the club had no intention of meeting with the German coach.
It emerged that it was the coach himself who turned down the opportunity, as he was unsure about the direction Spurs were planning to take during the upcoming summer transfer window.
It is believed that the appointment of a sporting director will bring stability and expertise to the decision-making process, which may ultimately influence the choice of a new manager.
In hindsight, it seems that Daniel Levy may have made a significant misstep by not pursuing Julian Nagelsmann or considering a potential return for Mauricio Pochettino. Pochettino, in particular, had previously enjoyed a successful stint as Tottenham’s manager and was adored by the fans.
His appointment would have undoubtedly garnered immediate approval and support from the Spurs faithful. However, it remains to be seen whether Levy has a well-thought-out plan that justifies passing up on these high-profile candidates.
As the search for a new manager continues, Tottenham finds itself at a crossroads. The club needs to make a decision that not only satisfies the fans’ desires for success but also aligns with their long-term vision.
Tottenham need to find a way to make themselves competitive. Many teams have leapfrogged the Lilywhites with regard to their status. It’s time for Daniel Levy to show some ambition and get back to the top.
