Tottenham Hotspur have ‘not resumed’ talks with Julian Nagelsmann
Tottenham Hotspur have ‘not resumed’ talks with Julian Nagelsmann regarding the vacant managerial hot seat at the North London side, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
There is still disagreement between the two parties when it comes to certain criteria. The German manager will only consider taking charge of Spurs if a new and supportive sporting director is appointed by the club.
As things stand, Feyenoord’s Arne Slot is a concrete option for Tottenham. Apart from the Dutch head coach, former Spain manager Luis Enrique, Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim and Ange Postecoglou are on Daniel Levy’s list.
Nagelsmann is a young but experienced manager. After making a name for himself at Hoffenheim, the German did wonders at RB Leipzig and had them competing in the Bundesliga.
Then, the 35-year-old took charge of one of the biggest clubs in the world in Bayern Munich, and led them to the league title in the 2021/22 campaign. This season, he faltered a bit at the Bavarians but still had them in a good position in the league as well as the Champions League.
Tottenham parted ways with Antonio Conte a few months back. Subsequently, Cristian Stellini was also let go. At the moment, Ryan Mason is in charge of the first team. The ex-midfielder has been unable to turn things around at the North London side as well.
Levy has struggled to find a long-term manager for Spurs ever since the departure of Mauricio Pochettino. Our chairman got Jose Mourinho, who failed to inspire an attractive style of play at the club.
Then, Nuno Espirito Santo’s stint at Tottenham was underwhelming as well. While Conte managed to instil a bit of hope in the supporters after finishing in the top four in the previous campaign, the Italian failed to build on that this season.

It looks like Nagelsmann is not in the running to be our next manager. Hopefully, whoever Levy will decide on next, will have time and be backed in the transfer window.
