Tottenham Hotspur looking to take advantage of Juventus in Dejan Kulusevski deal
Swedish journalist for TV4 Sebastian Pearson feels Tottenham Hotspur are looking to take advantage of Juventus in the deal for Dejan Kulusevski.
The Old Lady are in financial straits as things stand. To that end, Spurs are said to be using the situation to their advantage and trying to lower the Sweden international’s price tag.
Speaking exclusively to Tutto Juve, Pearson believes the North London side want to keep a hold of Kulusevski. The Lilywhites are supposedly using a strategy to force the Bianconeri into a tight corner.
“I don’t have any new information, but I think it’s all part of a very specific Tottenham strategy. I think Spurs want to keep Kulusevski, but at the same time take advantage of Juve’s need for money. And so they’re trying to lower the price. I think end, he will stay in London.”
The 23-year-old joined Tottenham in January 2022 from Juventus on an initial 18-month loan deal, which will come to an end in the coming weeks. However, Spurs have the option to sign the forward for £30.5 million.
But there seems to be a possibility of the North London side not making the Swedish national’s move permanent. However, that has been rubbished by Pearson, who is of the opinion that it is all part of the club’s plan.
Kulusevksi had a quick start to life at Tottenham. The winger became an essential part of Antonio Conte’s plans last season at Spurs and helped us get into the top four.
Unfortunately, the current campaign has not been as fruitful. The Swedish national has struggled to make an adequate impact on the pitch in the last few months.
However, injuries have not helped the 23-year-old’s cause either. He has made 36 appearances in all competitions in the 2022/23 term for the North London side, scoring two goals and providing eight assists.

But still, Kulusevski has shown enough at Tottenham so far to warrant a permanent switch. Hopefully, Daniel Levy and co. will not haggle too much and secure the 23-year-old’s services at the end of the season.
