Tottenham Hotspur predicted to fight relegation if Harry Kane leaves
Former Tottenham Hotspur ace Jamie O’Hara has predicted the North London side to be in a relegation scrap next season if Harry Kane leaves.
The England international is set to enter the final 12 months of his current contract at Spurs in the coming weeks. To that end, there is uncertainty surrounding the striker’s future at the Lilywhites.
Speaking on talkSPORT (h/t Daily Mail), O’Hara, who spent six years on Tottenham’s books, believes the club will be fighting for survival in the Premier League in the upcoming campaign were the 29-year-old to depart next summer.
“Obviously we all hope that he sticks around and signs a new contract. Because Laura, without Harry Kane, I seriously think we could be fighting relegation next season.”
Kane made his way through the ranks at Spurs and has been our talisman over the years. In the 2014/15 season, the English skipper broke onto the scene at the North London side and has not looked back since.
However, while the forward has attained several individual accolades at the Lilywhites, team titles have eluded him. The 29-year-old has given his best for us but has been unable to end our 14-year trophy drought.
To that end, now Kane is being linked with a move to Manchester United, with his deal expiring soon. European giants Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain also have the England international on their radar.
The 29-year-old has been the only saving grace of our season so far. He has been Tottenham’s only consistent goalscorer in the current campaign.
Son Heung-min has failed to live up to expectations in the current campaign. Richarlison has also not been impactful enough at the North London side since his move from Everton last summer.

Overall, Spurs have struggled this season from back to front. It has been Kane’s goals which have helped us on several occasions. Therefore, O’Hara’s fears, while a bit exaggerated, are understandable.
