Real Madrid receive offer to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane for Eden Hazard plus cash
Real Madrid have apparently received an offer from an intermediary to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane in exchange for Eden Hazard plus cash.
This is according to Spanish outlet Cadena SER, via Daily Mail, who state that Los Blancos are currently evaluating the option. If true, this would be a mindblowing deal for one side, and that is Real Madrid.
They are in need of a long-term replacement for the world-class striker that is Karim Benzema. Harry Kane would certainly fit the bill, with chairman Daniel Levy said to be unwilling to let the England international join a Premier League rival.
His contract at Spurs expires in the summer of 2024 and he is yet to sign a new deal here. Not only would Real Madrid gain a world-class superstar in Kane, but they would also rid themselves of a player that is frankly of no use to them.
Strict no
Hazard, 32, has just 194 minutes of La Liga football this term. Those are atrocious numbers for a player who was once considered one of the Premier League’s very best players during his time at Chelsea.
In his prime, the Belgium international was hard to stop with his pace off the blocks, dribbling ability, passing skills, and a finish to match at the end of it. Now, he has declined… a lot.
Not only is Eden Hazard injury prone, but he is also visibly slower, clunkier on the pitch and can’t seem to garner any sort of consistency. He is also in his 30s and would be an unwelcome addition to Spurs’ wage bill.

If Tottenham really resort to selling Kane, they should go for straight cash – enough to sign a new world-class striker and have some left over. If not, they should at least ask for a player in return that can contribute in the present and the future and match Kane’s importance to the club in at least some spheres.
