Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane reacts to Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea move

Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has given his verdict on Mauricio Pochettino’s move to Chelsea as their new permanent head coach.

Chelsea and Spurs have been on the lookout for a new head coach from around the same time following Graham Potter and Antonio Conte’s departures. The Blues have ultimately gone with the Argentine tactician.

It is a move that wouldn’t sit well with the white side of north London, who saw Poch manage them for over five years until his sacking into the 2019-20 season. Kane was one of his favourites, clearly.

The two achieved a lot together at Tottenham despite not winning a trophy. Tim Sherwood may have seen Kane transition from the academy to the first team.

But it was under Pochettino that the England international truly became the beast that he is today. The 29-year-old has now reacted to the former Southampton man’s move to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to Reuters at an event in New York, via Metro, he said:

“Mauricio was an amazing manager for me. Great person, great, great coach. He helped me a lot to get to where I am now. So I’m really appreciative of him. Everyone has their career, everyone has their future. So all I can say is I wish him all the best. I hope he does well – just obviously not as well as us!”

Chelsea have made a very smart investment in Mauricio Pochettino. He is a manager who knows the Premier League very well and now comes with the experience of having managed a Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) team filled with superstars.

He is a safe appointment and one who could lead them back to a top-four spot. Spurs fans would have certainly wanted the 51-year-old to have been Spurs’ new boss.
