Fabrizio Romano reveals Tottenham are closing in on Ange Postecoglou

Taking to Twitter, Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an exciting update on Tottenham Hotspur’s quest for a new manager.

According to Romano, the English club is on the verge of finalizing a deal with Celtic’s current manager, Ange Postecoglou (57), who has emerged as the favourite for the vacant position. He could be the new coach of the club.

Romano took to Twitter to share the latest developments, revealing that the next round of talks between Tottenham and the CAA agency, representing Postecoglou, is scheduled to occur within the next 24 to 48 hours.

While the contract is almost agreed upon, there are still some remaining details that need to be sorted out before it can be finalized. Tottenham have been diligently searching for a new manager since parting ways with Antonio Conte in March.

Initially, former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann was seen as the front-runner for the position. However, negotiations with Nagelsmann fell through, leaving Tottenham to explore other options.

Feyenoord manager Arne Slot then emerged as a strong contender, and while the initial meeting showed promise, talks eventually broke down due to a dispute over the payment to the Dutch club for Slot’s services.

Now, with Postecoglou’s potential appointment on the horizon, Tottenham fans can breathe a sigh of relief that their prolonged search for a new manager may finally be coming to an end. They seem to be getting a very skilled manager too.

Postecoglou’s accomplishments at Celtic have been noteworthy. In just two years with the Scottish club, he has secured an impressive five trophies. His most recent achievement came just yesterday, as Celtic triumphed in the Scottish Cup final against Inverness with a 3-1 victory, completing a domestic treble for the season.
