Teddy Sheringham feels Tottenham Hotspur should replace Harry Kane with Evan Ferguson
Teddy Sheringam asserted that Tottenham Hotspur should replace Harry Kane with Evan Ferguson, a promising player from Brighton Hove & Albion, if he were to depart the club.
Harry Kane is considering leaving Tottenham, and he already has teams lined up to sign him, with Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United all expressing serious interest.
Kane had a productive season despite Spurs’ disappointing season, scoring 30 goals and taking home the silver boot.
Daniel Levy, the chairman of the North Londoners, has stated categorically that he will only sell the 29-year-old to overseeing clubs and not English top teams.
Spurs will have a lot of change come the summer window, as they are set to appoint Ange Postecoglou as their permanent manager.
However, Sheringham feels Tottenham should replace Kane with bright youngster Evan Ferguson when asked about who they should get in to replace Kane. He told football betting site Betway:
“I think Evan Ferguson from Brighton is an outstanding young centre forward.”
If Tottenham decides to sell him during the transfer window, it will be a huge loss to lose him, but it will also be more profitable to sell him this season and make a substantial profit from his move given that he will become a free agent and be available for free to Tottenham’s rivals.
Ferguson, who is too young and has been a standout for the Seagulls this season, scored six goals in 19 Premier League outings. He has not been linked with a move to Spurs, but even if he did, he would have enormous shoes to fill given the pressure on him to score at least 20 goals per season.
However, considering that he played Premier League football in his first season, he will undoubtedly be ready for the upcoming campaign. Therefore, let’s just wait and see how things pan out because we haven’t made any approaches for him.
