Ben Jacobs confirms that Tottenham want Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho
Ben Jacobs, a reliable source close to Tottenham Hotspur, has provided confirmation that the club is genuinely interested in acquiring the services of Manchester United winger, Jadon Sancho, during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Speculation surrounding Tottenham’s potential bid for Sancho emerged following a recent report by The Daily Star, which suggested that the North London club was contemplating a £50 million offer for the former Borussia Dortmund star.
According to Jacobs, the interest from Tottenham is indeed real, although no significant developments have taken place as of yet. He emphasized that while Sancho is not currently a priority for Erik ten Hag.
A bid in the region of £50 million to £60 million might force Manchester United to seriously consider their options, especially if they have other potential signings on their radar. However, it’ll still be a loss on their initial investment for him.
Interestingly, Jacobs also revealed that Tottenham is not the only club eyeing Sancho’s services. Two prominent European clubs, namely Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli, have expressed their interest in the winger as well.
Here is what Jacobs had to say about the talented footballer and if he is on Tottenham’s radar
“I think £50m or £60m would be the kind of fee which would give Man Utd a decision to be made, especially if they have other incomings waiting. That one is a possibility, nothing is advanced at this point to my understanding, but the Tottenham interest is genuine”
If Tottenham were successful in securing Sancho’s signature, it would be a significant coup for the club. The 21-year-old England international showcased his immense talent during his time at Borussia Dortmund.
Tottenham’s reported interest in Sancho highlights the club’s ambition to strengthen its attacking options and compete at the highest level. The acquisition of a player of Sancho’s caliber would not only inject creativity and flair into the squad but also provide depth and competition for places.
