Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott tipped to be on Tottenham Hotspur radar
Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be in the race to acquire the services of Bristol City wonderkid Alex Scott in the coming future.
Spurs are one of the eight teams eyeing a move for the 19-year-old. The North London side have asked for information regarding the youngster. However, the Championship outfit are expected to ask for a pretty penny for the English national.
Speaking on the Last Word On Spurs on YouTube, CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs revealed that it would be conceivable to see Tottenham pursue Scott. However, Ashton Gate Stadium side will want around £30–£35 million for him.
“There are eight different clubs that in the last year have enquired about Alex Scott and Tottenham are one of them. So there is a very real possibility that they move on a fantastic player, who I think in the future could be very big and consistent in the Premier League.
“Now, the fee being asked for is around about £30-£35 million. I would expect Tottenham to be in the race here.”
The 19-year-old made his way to Bristol in January 2020 and initially played for their youth side. Subsequently, in the 2021/22 season, the youngster became a regular part of the Championship outfit’s senior squad.
In his first full year at the Ashton Gate Stadium side, the midfielder shone. He continued to be a pivotal player for Nigel Pearson’s team in the previous campaign.
Scott is a versatile player capable of playing in multiple positions in the middle of the park. Last season, the English national made 49 appearances in all competitions for Bristol, scoring two goals and providing five assists.
At Tottenham, we have seen an abundance of young talent come through the ranks and shine. Harry Kane is one of the biggest examples of the advantage of counting on young players.
In the engine room, we already have a decent potential superstar in Pape Matar Sarr. The 20-year-old was given a few opportunities in the previous campaign. It remains to be seen how much faith Ange Postecoglou will have in our youngsters next season.
