Fenerbahce wing-back Bright Osayi-Samuel attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in acquiring the services of Fenerbahce wing-back Bright Osayi-Samuel this summer, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik.
Spurs have already made an offer to acquire the services of the Nigeria international in the ongoing transfer window. Apart from the North London side, Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Championship outfit Sunderland also have him on their radar.
As things stand, the 25-year-old is open to the idea of returning to England. The defender’s current contract with the Istanbul-based club has two more years remaining on it, but they are going to evaluate offers for him.
Fenerbahce signed Osayi-Samuel from Queen Park Rangers in January 2021. The 25-year-old has also previously played for Blackpool in League One. As a result, he has vast experience of English football.
The full-back has been a key player in the Istanbul-based club’s squad. However, in the 2022/23 campaign, the defender lost his place in the Turkish outfit’s starting lineup to Ferdi Kadioglu.
At Tottenham, we have signed a number of right-backs over the last few years. Matt Doherty was signed from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2020. However, the Ireland international failed to make a mark at the club.
Then, in the summer of 2021, the North London side bought Emerson Royal from Barcelona. Unfortunately, the Brazil international has been inconsistent during his time at the Lilywhites.
Then, last summer, we added the promising talent of Djed Spence to our ranks. But the English national did not get many opportunities to showcase his talent in the previous campaign. He spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Stade Rennais. In January, Spurs signed Pedro Porro from Sporting CP.
