Harry Kane switch from Tottenham Hotspur to Chelsea seen as ‘impossible’
Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has no intention of dealing with Chelsea for Harry Kane in the ongoing transfer window, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required).
It is seen as ‘impossible’ for the North London side’s chief to send the English skipper to the Stamford Bridge side this summer. As things stand, the striker’s current contract at the Lilywhites is set to expire at the end of next season.
However, Levy has no intention of selling Spurs’ talisman to a Premier League team. Manchester United also have the 29-year-old on their radar. European giants Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in him.
Chelsea recently appointed former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino in their dugout. The Blues enquired about the possibility of a reunion between Kane and the Argentine manager. However, negotiations between the two London rivals seem unlikely.
The England international made his way through the youth ranks at the Lilywhites. Over the years, the striker has developed into one of the best players in the world.
However, while the 29-year-old has delivered season after season for Spurs, we have been unable to break our 14-year trophy drought. In the 2022/23 campaign, he was our only reliable attacker.
Son Heung-min, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski failed to back Kane in the last term adequately. The South Korean was especially disappointing, considering his importance to the team.
Chelsea are not in the best of positions as things stand. Just like Tottenham, the Blues have a new manager going into next season. Both teams will also not be competing in any European competition.

Therefore, Levy is wise in not strengthening a direct rival. Spurs need to get back into the fold of competing with the big teams. Having Kane in our squad evidently gives us a better chance of doing that.
