PSG are closing in on a move for Tottenham target Kang-in Lee
According to French publication Foot Mercato, PSG are closing in on a move for talented Mallorca forward Kang-in Lee, a player Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in.
Lee’s career has been on a steady upward trajectory since his move to Mallorca from Valencia in 2021. However, it was in the 2022-23 season that he truly made a name for himself with his impressive performances.
The attacking midfielder showcased his immense talent, netting six goals and delivering seven assists in 36 league appearances. It was no wonder that Tottenham expressed a keen interest in acquiring his services when reports emerged in late April.
The Lilywhites were initially touted as frontrunners in the race for Kang-in Lee‘s signature, with Mundo Deportivo revealing their intent ahead of the upcoming transfer window. Atletico Madrid, too, were keeping a watchful eye on the rising star.
Negotiations between Paris Saint-Germain and Mallorca have reached an advanced stage. The Ligue 1 giants have tabled a €15 million offer that the Spanish club is widely expected to accept.
This development has gained further credibility through the reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano. Taking to social media, Romano revealed that PSG and Mallorca are currently ironing out the “final details” of the agreement.
For Tottenham, missing out on Lee will be a bitter pill to swallow. The 22-year-old possesses exceptional technical ability, vision, and a knack for finding the back of the net. His performances for Mallorca were a testament to his growing maturity and influence on the field.
However, the unpredictable nature of the transfer market means that opportunities can be seized and lost in an instant. PSG’s sudden emergence as the frontrunners highlights their financial prowess and ambition to assemble a star-studded squad.
