Tottenham Hotspur star Sergio Reguilon wanted by Galatasaray
Tottenham Hotspur star Sergio Reguilon’s future hangs in the balance and Galatasaray have apparently earmarked him for a summer transfer.
According to Turkish outlet Takvim, he is one of the five left-backs eyed by them. The other options are Manchester United’s Alex Telles, Angelino from Leipzig, Jordi Alba from Barcelona, and Juventus’ Alex Sandro.
Smart scouting. These are five very talented left-backs with great experience in Europe who are struggling to be first-team regulars for their respective teams.
Reguilon was clearly not preferred by Antonio Conte, perhaps due to his lack of output in attack. The Italian tactician signed Ivan Perisic as a free agent from Inter Milan.
Reguilon to Turkey?
He also gave Ryan Sessegnon a chance, while allowing Reguilon to leave for Atletico Madrid on loan. The Spaniard is now set to return to Hotspur Way and his future is yet to be decided.
Reguilon really struggled to get any meaningful experience with Los Colchoneros due to injury problems, managing just 317 minutes for them across competitions. But he is 26 and can still improve as time passes.
Ange Postecoglou can still use him in his team, especially considering Perisic is 34 and set to enter the final year of his contract (Transfermarkt). Surely Spurs fans would want to see Reguilon in action again and see how he fares in a new system.
Galatasaray, with all due respect, can’t offer the former Real Madrid left-back the fame and glory that a big six club in England can. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the player isn’t keen on a move himself.

But that doesn’t mean it cannot happen. There is every chance that he goes elsewhere, rekindles his career, and earns a spot in Spain’s national team set-up once again.
