Tottenham Hotspur target Pau Torres has been offered to Bayern Munich
According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham-linked Pau Torres has been offered to German giants Bayern Munich and a move could be on the cards this summer.
With Tottenham’s sights set on bolstering their defence this summer, the quest for a left-sided centre-back has intensified. Clement Lenglet filled that role on loan last season but he has not been confirmed as a permanent signing.
The club has been closely monitoring the situations of Manchester United’s Harry Maguire, Manchester City’s Aymeric Laporte, and Wolves’ rising star, Max Kilman. Lenglet himself is an option for the club as well.
Spurs were preparing to battle it out with Aston Villa and Juventus for the signature of Pau Torres. The Lilywhites had even made a bid for the Spanish defender last summer, only to have it rebuffed by Villarreal.
Florian Plettenberg suggests that Torres’s availability has attracted the attention of Bayern Munich. Although the 26-year-old finds himself on the Bundesliga giants’ radar, he is not their primary target, and negotiations are not yet in an advanced stage.
For Tottenham, the potential addition of Pau Torres would be a significant coup. Known for his composure on the ball, exceptional reading of the game, and precise passing, the Spanish international possesses all the attributes to thrive in the Premier League.
However, the prospect of Torres donning the Bayern Munich jersey still looms large. The Bavarian powerhouse has a well-documented history of acquiring top talents from around Europe, and it’s no surprise that Torres has found his way onto their radar.
