Son Heung-min wants Tottenham Hotspur stay amid Saudi interest
It was recently claimed by ESPN that Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad will make a bid to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min.
The player has since had his say on his future in N17. Speaking recently, Son said he was committed to playing at Spurs and said, via Fabrizio Romano on Twitter:
“I have many things to do in PL. Money doesn’t matter to me now, and the pride of playing football, to play in my favorite league is important. I want to play more for Tottenham.”
That is why Spurs fans love Son. He is always committed to playing at the highest level and giving it his all. A player of his calibre will generate interest elsewhere.
Son to stay at Spurs
But he has been loyal to the club since his move from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015. During that time, he has become one of the world’s best wingers and there is no surprise that Al-Ittihad are interested in him.
They have already signed Karim Benzema and potentially N’Golo Kante. But moving to an up-and-coming league like the SPL is basically giving up on playing at the highest level in football.
That is why Son’s aforementioned comment sounds even better. He wants to stay in the Premier League and play for us. He won’t be disturbed by big-money offers from elsewhere.
Spurs fans would love it if Son’s partner in crime, Harry Kane, makes a similar statement. The 29-year-old will enter the final year of his contract next month and has been linked with an exit this summer.

Son (30), by comparison, has one extra year on his deal with us (Transfermarkt). Given his ability and loyalty, the current contract should absolutely not be his last one with us.
