Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane holds Manchester United hope this summer
Harry Kane ‘still hopes’ Manchester United will reinitiate talks with Tottenham Hotspur and reignite their interest in him, according to the Daily Mail.
The England international believes the Red Devils will make a move for him in the ongoing transfer window if Daniel Levy lowers the £100 million asking price.
As things stand, the Old Trafford side are not willing to spend the aforementioned amount on the 29-year-old. Considering the striker’s age and with only one year left on his contract, the North London side’s demand is too much for the Old Trafford side.
As a result, United have ended their interest in Kane for the time being. Instead, the Red Devils are now focusing on other targets to bolster their forward line. However, a fee close to £80 million could bring the Manchester-based club back to the negotiating table.
However, Levy has no intention of selling the English skipper to another team in the Premier League. European giants Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain also have the 29-year-old on their radar.
United seemingly lack a quality number nine at the moment. Anthony Martial has been injury prone since Ten Hag’s arrival. In January, the Red Devils had to sign Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley to act as cover up front.
As for Kane, he has a proven track record in the English top flight. The forward has been prolific for Tottenham year after year since breaking into the team in the 2014/15 season.
However, we rely on the 29-year-old heavily. In the previous campaign, the England international was our only attacker who was able to find the back of the net on a consistent basis.

Therefore, despite the threat of Kane becoming a free agent next summer, Levy is wise in keeping hold of him. With the English skipper in Spurs’ squad, we have a higher chance of achieving success.
