Barcelona are looking swap deal Clement Lenglet for Tottenham star Giovani Lo Celso

According to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are interested in securing the services of Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso has intensified, with news circulating that the Spanish giants are eager to negotiate a swap deal that includes their defender Clement Lenglet.

The enticing prospect of acquiring a player of Lo Celso’s calibre has reportedly caught the eye of Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez, who holds the Argentine midfielder in high regard due to his playmaking abilities.

However, Barcelona’s ongoing financial challenges could complicate their pursuit of Lo Celso at an agreeable cost. The Catalan club finds itself in a delicate position as they navigate the transfer market while striving to remain financially prudent.

Barcelona remains optimistic about brokering a deal with Tottenham for Giovani Lo Celso and are even willing to part ways with Clement Lenglet in order to sweeten the offer. Lenglet, a French defender who spent the previous season on loan with Tottenham

Xavi Hernandez, in his pursuit of building a formidable team, has identified the need for players with exceptional passing abilities to complement star striker Robert Lewandowski. Lo Celso, with his technical prowess and vision on the field, has emerged as a strong contender to fill the void left by veteran midfielder Sergio Busquets.

While a permanent move for Lenglet may not be on the cards for Tottenham, who originally brought him in as a temporary solution, the North London club might be open to parting ways with Lo Celso.

In such a scenario, a cash-only offer from Barcelona could serve as a viable solution, allowing Spurs to reinvest the funds in other areas of the squad. However, it’s important to note that Barcelona are not the sole suitor vying for Lo Celso’s signature.

Aston Villa, now under the management of Unai Emery, Lo Celso’s former boss, is also reported to have expressed interest in acquiring the Argentine midfielder. The duo had a fruitful relationship during Lo Celso’s loan spell at Villarreal.
