Tottenham are keen to make a move for Juventus star Gleison Bremer this summer

According to the Telegraph (subscription required), Tottenham Hotspur have plotted a move for talented Brazilian defender Gleison Bremer from Juventus this summer.

The North London club are eager to bolster their defensive line and the 26-year-old Brazilian could prove to be an excellent addition to their squad. Since joining Juventus a year ago, Bremer has swiftly established himself as a key figure. Deploying him alongside Cristian Romero could solidify Tottenham’s backline.

Throughout the previous season, Spurs showcased vulnerability at the back, conceding an alarming 63 goals in 38 Premier League encounters. In their pursuit of returning to the top four and vying for Champions League qualification, shoring up their defence becomes imperative.

For Ange Postecoglou, securing a quality central defender is of utmost importance, and Bremer fits the desired profile impeccably. His physicality, aerial prowess, and tactical astuteness make him an attractive option for the Lilywhites.

The potential availability of the Brazilian has caught the attention of Tottenham, who have been monitoring his situation closely. The club have an admiration for Gleison Bremer since his time at Torino, with their interest dating back over a year.

The opportunity to ply his trade in the highly competitive Premier League could entice the versatile defender, yet negotiating a fee with Juventus remains a significant hurdle. The Italian club will not make life easy for Spurs.

Tottenham are no strangers to signing players from Juventus. When Fabio Paratici was the sporting director, a few of his first moves in the transfer market were to poach Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski (initially on loan) from the Italian side.

Considering Bremer’s long-term contract with the Italian giants, there is no urgency for Juventus to part ways with the player this summer. Spurs may have to table an enticing offer to persuade the Turin-based club to entertain the prospect of a transfer.

Paratici might be gone but his spirit seems to still be engulfed in the way Tottenham are going about their business. Bremer will be an astute acquisition and let’s hope we get him.
