Bayern Munich make Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane their top summer transfer target

Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has been identified by Bayern Munich as their top target in the ongoing transfer window, according to Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg on Twitter.

After a new round of talks, the Bavarians have decided to pursue the signature of the England international this summer. While a deal is expected to be difficult to carry out, the Allianz Arena side are planning their next steps.

The 29-year-old has already indicated to the Bundesliga giants that they are his preferred destination. As things stand, the German outfit are confident of acquiring the forward’s services for less than €100 million.

Kane has done a lot for the North London side over the years. The English skipper has consistently found the back of the net season after season for us. He is now the Lilywhites’ all-time leading goalscorer.

Unfortunately, the 29-year-old has been unable to get his hands on silverware at Tottenham. Spurs have now gone 14 years without lifting a trophy.

Therefore, it would not be a surprise to see Kane part ways with Spurs for Bayern. The Bavarians are one of the most successful teams in the world and have won the Bundesliga title for 10 consecutive years.

Last summer, the Allianz Arena side lost Robert Lewandowski. They bought Sadio Mane from Liverpool, but the Senegalese is not an out-and-out striker. Up front, the likes of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Thomas Muller were deployed in the previous campaign.

However, Kane is our talisman. He was the North London side’s only reliable attacker last season. The English national played every minute of the Lilywhites’ underwhelming Premier League campaign and found the back of the net 30 times.

Tottenham evidently need to keep a hold of him. Hopefully, the prospect of being close to breaking Alan Shearer’s record for the most goals in the English top flight will entice the 29-year-old to stay for a bit longer.
