Player Watch: Guglielmo Vicario makes first Instagram post after completing Tottenham move
Guglielmo Vicario is a Tottenham Hotspur player. It’s done, sealed and confirmed now by the club itself.
Fans have been aware for several days that he was joining Spurs. It was all about the formal procedures, which have now been completed. He is the chosen one to succeed Hugo Lloris.
The 36-year-old is nearing the end of his playing days and had become error-prone. We perhaps kept him as our No. 1 for one season too many.
Now, we have a new No. 1 to look forward to. According to Fabrizio Romano, the 26-year-old Italian goalkeeper has joined the Lilywhites for a fee of €19million which is truly a very fair price for a player of his abilities.
Tottenham get their man
His performances have been observed by Italy, who called him up for the 2024 UEFA Euros qualifiers earlier this month. The player seems thrilled by the prospect of joining Spurs.
Just a few hours after the Italian star’s move to Tottenham was confirmed, he took to Instagram and posted a photo of himself in Spurs kit with the caption:
“Thank you for the warm welcome. I’m very happy to be here and I can’t wait to start. TO DARE IS TO DO. #COYS #1nnegoziabilmente #livingthedream #spurs”
It seems very likely that Ange Postecoglou makes Vicario our No. 1 from the 2023-24 season itself. He is, after all, in his prime years and wouldn’t want to settle for a spot on the bench.

That is especially the case considering he would want regular minutes at club level to make sure he wins his first senior cap for the Italian national team. Now that the Vicario deal is done, it’s time to focus on other deals. Good start to the window.
