Atletico Madrid have opened talks with Tottenham Hotspur for Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg
According to the Daily Mail, Spanish side Atletico Madrid have opened talks with Tottenham Hotspur for Danish midfielder Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg.
Tottenham’s summer transfer window is in full swing as they prepare for their exciting preseason in Australia and Singapore. With a packed schedule ahead, it’s clear that manager Ange Postecoglou is eager to make significant changes to the squad.
Tottenham have already secured moves for the likes of James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario. They have also managed to sign Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent transfer. The club are also linked to a number of other players.
One player that Postecoglou is willing to part ways with Atletico’s manager, Diego Simeone, has instructed his recruitment team to explore the possibility of signing the Danish international.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has proven to be an excellent addition since his arrival from Southampton. However, he has been hampered by the lack of quality midfield options around him. It looks like Postecoglou does not trust the player in his system.
One potential player who can step up from the club is Yves Bissouma, who showcased his talent during his time at Brighton but struggled to secure consistent game time under Antonio Conte.
Bissouma’s impressive performances caught the eye of many, and at 27 years old, now could be the perfect opportunity for him to leave N17 in search of silverware and a chance to fulfil his true potential.
The departure of Hojbjerg, while a loss in terms of his contributions, could pave the way for a fresh start and the introduction of new talent. It remains to be seen how negotiations with Atletico Madrid will progress, but if a deal can be reached, it may prove beneficial for all parties involved.
