Galatasaray reach an agreement with Tottenham to sign Tanguy Ndombele on loan
Turkish giants Galatasaray have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to secure the services of Tanguy Ndombele on a season-long loan.
According to the reputable Turkish outlet Fanatik, the negotiations between the two clubs have been smooth sailing. Ethem Sunduk, a respected writer for Fanatik, took to Twitter to share the latest update on this intriguing transfer.
However, the successful completion of this agreement is contingent upon the future of Lucas Torreira and Leandro Paredes. Galatasaray is looking to part ways with Torreira, and it is believed that Lazio and Newcastle United have shown interest in the talented midfielder.
Meanwhile, PSG’s Paredes remains the top target for the Turkish club. Should the pursuit of Paredes fall through, Ndombele will undoubtedly be the alternative option. It looks like the Frenchman might not be at the N17 for too long.
Contrary to recent reports from L’Equipe, which suggested that the Frenchman would be given an opportunity to impress the new manager during pre-season, it appears that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is ready to cut ties with the midfielder.
Ndombele arrived at the club in 2019 with high expectations, following a club-record transfer fee of £63m from Lyon. Regrettably, the talented midfielder has struggled to live up to these lofty expectations, failing to make a lasting impression under successive Spurs managers.
With Ndombele’s performances not meeting the desired standards, it is hardly surprising that Chairman Levy has made the decision to offload the player’s wages for the upcoming season instead of giving him another chance.
Apparently, even the option of terminating Ndombele’s contract has been considered if a suitable offer fails to materialise. While this outcome would be disappointing for the player, it would allow Tottenham to free up resources and pursue alternative options.
