Bristol City reject £15 million offer from Bournemouth for Tottenham Hotspur target Alex Scott

Championship outfit Bristol City have rejected a £15 million offer from Bournemouth for Tottenham Hotspur target Alex Scott, according to Bristol Live.

The Cherries bid a fixed sum plus add-ons for the youngster. However, the Ashton Gate Stadium side value the 19-year-old at a much higher price.

At the moment, the midfielder is one of the most promising talents in English football. Apart from Spurs and the Vitality Stadium side, Premier League rivals Newcastle United, West Ham United and even Italian giants Inter Milan have been linked with the English national.

Scott signed his first professional contract with Bristol in 2021. The youngster subsequently made a few appearances in the Championship for the Ashton Gate Stadium side in the 2020/21 term.

However, in the last two seasons, the 19-year-old has become a key player for Nigeal Pearson’s team. In the previous campaign, the English national made 49 appearances in all competitions for them, scoring two goals and providing five assists.

Bournemouth survived relegation in the 2022/23 term after a good end to the season. Philip Billing was a key player for them in the middle of the park. They also counted on Jefferson Lerma, but he has joined Crystal Palace this summer.

As for Tottenham, last season, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Yves Bissouam, Rodrigo Bentancur and Oliver Skipp played a key role in our midfield. Unfortunately, the Uruguayan picked up an injury in the second half of the campaign.

We have signed James Maddison in the ongoing transfer window. However, the former Leicester City star is more of a number 10 rather than a box-to-box midfielder.

Scott is still young and has showcased his versatility at Bristol. The English national can be moulded into a quality midfielder. However, it remains to be seen whether Bournemouth will beat us to the 19-year-old’s signature.
