Tottenham Hotspur willing to pay €40 million to sign Gleison Bremer from Juventus
Tottenham Hotspur are willing to pay €40 million to Juventus to acquire the services of Gleison Bremer this summer, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.net.
Spurs are looking to add reinforcements in every department to strengthen Ange Postecoglou’s squad. The Bianconeri’s Brazilian defender has been identified as one of the players to bolster the backline.
The 26-year-old was one of the standout performers last season for a rather underwhelming Juventus side. Therefore, it is understandable that the North London side are willing to offer a significant fee for him.
Tottenham want to strengthen their team in the coming weeks and get back to being competitive in the Premier League. To that end, Bremer is being eyed by the Lilywhites. However, other top European teams are interested in him as well.
Juventus signed the Brazilian in the summer of 2022 from Torino. The centre-back has been one of the best defenders in Serie A over the years and has proven his qualities at the Allianz Stadium side.
However, Massimiliano Allegri’s team struggled in the previous campaign. The Italian giants failed to make it out of the group stages of the Champions League and finished seventh in the league table.
Tottenham did not have the best of seasons either. We are set to miss out on European football after ending the 2022/23 term in eighth place. The defence was a major concern for us.
In the previous campaign, the likes of Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Clement Lenglet regularly played in our backline. However, they were all inconsistent. Davinson Sanchez has also seemingly run his course at the North London side.

At the moment, Spurs lack depth in the centre-back area. We seemingly need to add more quality to the defence. Bremer will arguably be an upgrade over most of our current options. However, whether the Lilywhites will put in a bid for him remains to be seen.
