Tottenham star Manor Solomon undergoes another surgery as injury setbacks continues

Manor Solomon disappointed with Tottenham Hotspur loss to West Ham United

Tottenham Hotspur star Manor Solomon feels Tottenham Hotspur did enough to get a positive result in the loss to West Ham United on Tuesday (18 July).

Spurs took on the Hammers at the Optus Stadium in Australia. Unfortunately, the North London side were unable to start their pre-season run on a winning note, losing 3-2.

Speaking to the club’s official website after the loss, Solomon was delighted to have played his first minutes in a Tottenham shirt. However, the Israel international expressed disappointment at suffering a defeat at the hands of David Moyes’ team.

“First of all, I’m really happy to make my debut, the first time to play in front of our fans, amazing for me.

“It’s a shame we didn’t win. I think we dominated the game, created a lot of chances, had a lot of the ball, but in the end we lost. We will improve. We’ll get better and better. We will work on what we need to do and it’s going to be a bright future for the club.”

Spurs signed the 23-year-old in the ongoing transfer window. The forward established himself at Shakhtar Donetsk before he caught a lot of people’s attention with his displays in the Premier League on loan at Fulham last season.

Solomon started the match against West Ham on the left-hand side of the attack. The 23-year-old looked promising going forward and put in an impressive performance in the first 45 minutes, even though we trailed 2-0 at half-time.

Subsequently, the Israeli was substituted for the second half as Ange Postecoglou made wholesale changes. However, we managed to turn things around and equalised against the Hammers.

Giovani Lo Celso halved the North London side’s deficit in the 68th minute before Destiny Udogie got us back to level pegging a few minutes later. Unfortunately, the Lilywhites were unable to stop Moyes’ team from adding a third goal.

Tottenham struggled defensively against West Ham, just like we did all of last season. Therefore, Postecoglou needs to sort it out during the upcoming friendlies.

However, it was encouraging to see Spurs play an attacking brand of football and we created a lot of chances but were unable to finish them. Hopefully, the North London side will only get better from here on out.
