Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso in talks with Napoli
Giovani Lo Celso, who plays for Tottenham Hotspur, is in talks with Napoli at the moment regarding a switch in the ongoing transfer window.
Spurs have had the midfielder on their books since the summer of 2019. However, over the years, the Argentina international has been unable to make an impact at the North London side.
Speaking to Radio Punto Nuovo, Lo Celso’s representatives have confirmed that he is in contact with the Serie A champions. However, as things stand, nothing is concrete regarding the negotiations.
“He is talking about it, but at the moment nothing is closed yet”.
The 27-year-old has spent the last year-and-a-half away from Tottenham. In January 2022, the playmaker joined Villarreal on loan, where he thrived under Unai Emery. The Yellow Submarines made it to the Champions League semi-final that season.
Last summer, the Argentine re-joined the La Liga outfit on a temporary move. He had a spell on the sidelines that hampered his game time. However, the midfielder was still a key player for the Spanish outfit.
Lo Celso has returned to Spurs recently and even featured for us in the 3-2 loss to West Ham United in our first pre-season friendly. The 27-year-old put in an impressive display as he found the back of the net in the match.
Ange Postecoglou has some decent options in the middle of the park. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Yves Bissouma and Oliver Skipp have been joined by Tanguy Ndombele and the Argentine, who were out on loan last season.
We also have Rodrigo Bentancur in our ranks. But the Uruguayan is still on the sidelines with an injury. The North London side have added James Maddison to their ranks in the ongoing transfer window.

While Lo Celso is a talented player, he has been unable to showcase that at Tottenham. It will be interesting to see whether the Argentine will be able to make a place for himself in Ange Posteoglou’s plans or will leave the club this summer.
