Al Hilal submit €300m bid for Tottenham Hotspur target Kylian Mbappe
According to popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Saudi club Al Hilal have submitted a €300m bid for Tottenham Hotspur target Kylian Mbappe to try and sign him this summer.
It was claimed by Spanish outlet MARCA that the talented French striker is an option for the North London club this summer amidst the uncertainty surrounding his immediate future at the French capital.
With the player in a contract stand-off with the club, PSG have sent out a statement to the player by leaving him out of their pre-season tour to Japan, effectively sending him an ultimatum to either renew his contract or leave.
One can draw parallels to the situation with Harry Kane at Tottenham – except that the player himself wants to leave the club here whilst Daniel Levy & co. do not want to let him leave at any cost.
Over the last nine months, the Saudi clubs have made it a habit of throwing money into Europe’s football market to see what sticks. To be fair to them, they have managed to lure quite a few big names.
It has now emerged that Al Hilal have come up with a ridiculous bid to try and tempt the French wonderboy to come to Saudi. They have offered PSG a mind-boggling €300m to sign him this summer.
Romano claims that Mbappe wants to continue in Europe and is not being tempted by the Saudi offer. With the kind of money that is involved though, it’d be impossible to not consider it an option at all.
Coming to Tottenham’s interest though, it’s like fishing with a rod in the middle of the sea. With absolutely nothing to offer to Mbappe from a financial or a footballing perspective at this moment, this move is unlikely to even be considered.
