Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson being monitored by Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur are ‘monitoring’ Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson in the ongoing transfer window, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required).
However, the North London side are not the only team interested in the Wales international. Brentford have already offered £35 million plus add-ons to the Tricky Trees to acquire his services.
But the West Bridgford-based club immediately rejected the Bees’ proposal to get a hold of the attacker’s signature. The City Ground side have placed a £50 million valuation on the 22-year-old’s head.
As things stand, Johnson and his camp have held talks with Steve Copper. The Forest head coach regards the attacker as an integral part of his plans going into the 2023/24 term.
Apart from Brentford, Aston Villa also had their eyes on the Welsh national earlier in the window. It remains to be seen whether Spurs will make a concrete move for the 22-year-old in the coming weeks.
Johnson made his way through the youth ranks at Forest and has been a key player for his boyhood club over the years. In the previous campaign, in the attacker’s first Premier League campaign, he made 38 appearances scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
At Tottenham, the attacking line is stacked with quality. However, as per Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg on Twitter, Bayern Munich are working hard to sign Harry Kane.
The English skipper has been our talisman over the years. If the 30-year-old were to leave, the North London side would arguably need to add a prolific goalscorer to their ranks.

Johnson still has a long way to go in his career. The Welsh national has potential. However, Forest’s price tag on the attacker seems a bit excessive. Will the 22-year-old make a move to Spurs in the coming future? Only time will tell.
