Tottenham Hotspur star Oliver Skipp believes his injury troubles are behind him

Speaking to Tottenham Hotspur’s official Twitter account, talented young Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp is raring to go ahead of the new season.

Skippy, as he is fondly referred to by his teammates is widely considered as one of the best young talents at the club at the moment. His talent and ability need no introduction and he is expected to have a good upcoming season.

The English youngster had a breakthrough season on loan at Norwich City before returning and making himself a regular under then-manager Nuno Espirito Santos. However, the last 18 months have been marred by injuries for Oliver Skipp.

He did return well towards the end of last season with him getting significant game time in the absence of Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma. However, much bigger things are expected from Skipp.

Under a manager in Ange Postecoglou who would suit his playstyle, Skipp could have a new lease of life at Tottenham. He has already featured prominently for the club in the pre-season and it is likely to continue.

Speaking about his injury issues, Skippy assured that it was an issue of the past and that he has moved on now

“Physically I feel like I’m in a really good place, no issues. The aim is to keep it that way, to prevent any issues. I feel like I’m past of all of those and ready to really push on.”

There is a reason Skipp is rated so highly at Tottenham. He has a very high ceiling in the game and if he can stay fit, there is no reason why he cannot be a genuine star for Tottenham in Postecoglou’s set-up.

It is too early to make calls on Skipp’s career but the early signs have been really promising. Understandably, the club wants to back him and they will hope that he comes good this campaign.
