Bryan Gil price tag too-high amidst Sevilla interest in the Tottenham Hotspur forward
Tottenham Hotspur have set a high price tag on Bryan Gil in the ongoing transfer window amidst interest from Sevilla, according to Spanish outlet ABC.
Jose Luis Mendilibar is keen on bolstering his forward line this summer. The La Liga outfit’s manager wants to sign a left winger in the coming weeks. To that end, they have Spurs’ 22-year-old on their radar.
However, a move for the attacker seems unlikely as the Nervionenses cannot come to a consensus with the North London side. As things stand, they have their eyes on OGC Nice’s Billal Brahimi as well.
Tottenham signed Gil in the summer of 2021 from Sevilla. The winger made his way through the youth ranks at the Andalusian club and impressed while out on loan at Eibar in the 2020/21 term.
Subsequently, the youngster joined the North London side. However, after failing to get regular game time, he left for Valencia on loan after just six months at Spurs.
Last season, Gil was once again unable to make a place for himself at Tottenham. Under Antonio Conte last season, he made 11 appearances in all competitions for the North London side, mostly off the bench.
In January 2023, the Spanish national rejoined Sevilla on loan. In 24 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit, he scored two goals and provided three assists. The youngster started in the Europa League final as the Andalusian club beat AS Roma.
At Tottenham, competition for places up front is high. Out wide, we have the likes of Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison and Monor Solomon in our ranks.

Therefore, it would evidently be wise to let Gil part ways with the club either on a temporary or permanent basis. The Spaniard arguably needs regular game time to further his development.
