Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku wanted by Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is keen on signing Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea this summer, according to Football Transfers (h/t Wales Online).
Spurs have been linked with a surprise move for the 30-year-old. The Australian gaffer has ‘personally’ asked for the Belgium international to be signed in the ongoing transfer window.
As things stand, the future of Harry Kane is uncertain at the North London side. Bayern Munich are interested in acquiring the England international’s services.
To that end, if Tottenham’s 30-year-old talisman were to leave in the coming weeks, Postecoglou wants to replace him with Lukaku. The former Celtic head coach wants to get the Belgian on loan from the Blues for the 2023/24 term.
At the moment, the striker is looking to part ways with the Stamford Bridge side this summer. Tottenham are willing to pay him £300,000 weekly salary to make a switch to the North London side.
Lukaku has had a topsy-turvy career so far. Making his way to Chelsea as a youngster, the forward impressed at the likes of West Bromwich Albion and Everton before Manchester United came calling for his services in the summer of 2017.
However, the Belgian failed to make a mark at the Old Trafford side and was sold to Inter Milan. After two impressive seasons at the Nerazzurri, the Blues re-signed him.
But after just one year back at the West London club, Lukaku was shipped back on loan to Inter. But the Belgian was unable to do much at the Serie A outfit in the previous campaign. Now, he is in limbo at the Stamford Bridge side.

Kane has been one of the best strikers in the world in the last few years. On the other hand, Lukaku has showcased his profligacy consistently in most teams. Therefore, it would arguably be a big downgrade to replace the English skipper with the Belgian.
